With this extreme heat cooling down at the weekend it is decided to mark Saturday for a Sunday race from Bubwith. This should give the birds a cooler night in the Transporter and a cooler flight home and also avoid the big organisations going North sorry for any inconvenience but we are trying to do the best for the birds

After 3 young bird races under some of the hottest and dryest conditions we have ever seem returns for some have been good for others poor, early pigeons have been in good numbers but the later birds are affected by the heat and dehydration. Early libs have become the order of the day but unfortunately almost every organization is doing the same filling the sky with pigeon, the clear blue skies have taken many exited youngster way past his home loft

53 members sent 1,017 birds to Sleaford where K Nixon & son took the red card vel 1610 for Norfolk inv and Bobby Saunders at Ness Point is 2nd vel 1601 a drop of 6 members for Laceby and 835 birds S Steve Howells led the way home with the first 9 places winner 1581.

Week 3 should have been Bubwith but the decision was taken to come shorter to avoid the UNC and Durham amal birds in the heat this I believe worked but returns were still not great for many 48 members sent 826 birds Tom Burkill led the way with the first 7 vel 1439 club mate David Hicks was also in the mix.

The club Young Bird  K.O is now down to last 18

Week 4 we start the 5th Heat wave with day time temperatures up to 35 by Thursday it is predicted to cool down by Saturday and we hope to be at Bubwith but things could change. The nights are cooler now even on hot days but we will put 16 birds in the crates across the both sexes.

IF TEMPERTURES EXCEEL 30C THE RACE WILL BE CANCEL
